Jimmy D’s Bar and Grill is a full-service restaurant and bar, family-owned and operated since the ’70s. As one of the oldest local family-owned bar and grills in Kitsap County, we are proud of our over 40 yrs of serving great food and providing our hard-working locals a place of rest and respite.
The original log building was built in the early ’70s by Mr. Skinner and was milled from local woods just up the road. “The Golden Ox” tragically caught Fire in 1988 and was bought and remodeled in 1989 by Gorst Locals, Jim and Midge Haskins. They added onto the original log building for the bar, added the classic diner-inspired eating counter and renamed the place Jimmy D’s Waffle and Steakhouse. “
Originally open 24 hrs, it was known as “ THE” place for loggers and fisherman. Gorst has a rich and amazing history as a pioneering location for the aviation, naval and logging industries. Jimmy D’s has been there to see it all. Jimmy D’s is now a favorite hangout for locals, first responders, and military service personnel alike looking for a cold brew and a great game of pool. People of all ages enjoy their time at our eatery. Apart from our infamous bar, we have a separate section for families to sit and enjoy our homestyle fare and generous portions.
